Dear Participants, dear Pleco interested,
the end of the year is coming closer und with this, also the 1. International L-Numbers Days in Hannover.

A convention like this, in preparation for a long time, always requires some short-term alterations. Unfortunately, one of our scheduled speakers, Janne Ekstrøm who currently lives in Brazil, has to cancel his talk due to job-related issues. This is of course quite a pity, as we would have loved to hear something about his project related to breeding of ornamental fish in the northeast of Brazil, just as much as hearing about his outstanding successes in breeding catfish.

We have been able, however, to more than adequately close this gap. Instead, we were able to win the renown Brazilian Ichthyologist Lucia Rapp Py-Daniel as speaker. For more than 30 years now, she is intensely researching the systematics of South American fresh water fish, especially Loricariids. During this research she described, among others, the genera Baryancistrus, Oliganistrus and Dekeyseria, and was involved in the description of numerous loricariid catfish. Lately, she was involved in research regarding the loricariids of Rio Xingú. At the 1. International L-Numbers Days, she will offer us some insight into her work as an Ichthyologist.

As an additional change we can announce that due to the unexpectedly large number of participants, our chosen location would not suffice. We were able to instead acquire an Auditorium at the Produktionstechnisches Zentrum of the Leibniz-University in Hannover. Here, we will have sufficient space for more than 100 participants as well as state of the art presentation technique.
