In the year 1993, we decided to turn our hobby – the breeding of ornamental fish – into a business, and thus, the export company Metop Aquarium was founded. This happened in a time when in the Czech Republic as well as Slovakia, hundreds of skilled ornamental fish breeders were available. While in recent years, the costs of this beautiful hobby raised significantly, the breeding of ornamental fish remained at its high level of expertise with us.

The tropical fish bred in the Czech Republic are in constant perfect condition for transport to all pet stores around Europe as well as across European borders. To always have something interesting available for our customers in general, as well as breeders, we also oriented toward import of new species of fish right at the beginning of our business, which lasts for 16 years now.

In recent times, however, import regulations of several tropical ornament fish, especially of the L-numbers from South America, mainly Brasil, came into focus.

We consider it reasonable and important to support all activities aiming at preserving a diverse collection of these magnificent fish available for the European hobbyist as possible.

Through our participation at this event we wish to do our share in this endeavor and hope for opportunities to also do so in the future.
